The Amazing Mom

My mom Shawn is a great listener. She helps me through my teenage break downs all the time. She never judges me on them either. Also when everything is done and over with she doesn’t hold grudges on anyone. First, when she helps me through teenage breakdowns, she is helping me a lot. She helps me choose how to handle the situation the right way. When it’s a school issue she tells me what I should do and lets me decide the final outcome. For instance when I was failing a class and she told me I should go talk to the teacher and see what’s up, come to find out the teacher had not put a paper in that was worth a big part of my grade. Second, it’s fantastic that she doesn’t judge either, when I get into fights with friends she still listens even though she thinks the fights are dumb and not worth my time. She respects how I feel about it whether I’m right or wrong. For example I had an argument over me being ditched so my friend could go to a concert and I wasn’t happy because we had planned a week in advance and she completely just went anyway. Finally, when the fight is over she never holds a grudge. She doesn’t treat anyone different when the fight is over. Also she doesn’t look to the past once it’s over, and it’s never brought up again by her. For example, an old friend of mine who I had been friends with since I was three, we got into a huge fight over something really dumb and while we were fighting my mom didn’t like her and then once I had agreed to become friends with her again my mom completely understood and never treated her differently.

Dear Susan G. Komen Foundation,

This letter is to thank you for everything you do, mostly how you save many lives, have a lot of ways to get donations, and you do walks to raise even more money. First off, thank you for saving lives. My mom is a 3 year breast cancer survivor and she wouldn't have been able to do it without you guys supporting her by trying to find a cure. You give so many people hope in having a longer life it’s just magical. Second, you have so many things that help obtain many donations in helping to find a cure for breast cancer. I like that you have jars in grocery stores and you have a product line of pretty much everything you could think of that also if bought a percentage goes to the breast cancer Susan G. Komen foundation. Third, the walks and runs that you have raise so much money. Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is a great thing you guys put together by having a minimum of a 10,000 dollar donation for each person who runs in the Race for the Cure. Also the smaller walks done at Tempe Town Lake and many other places as well for businesses to raise a certain amount of money is also a great way to raise extra money too . With all of the things you guys do at the Susan G. Komen foundation to raise money, i know you can find a cure so that when I’m old and I have grand kids they don’t have to worry about getting breast cancer because there would be a cure. If you find a cure for breast cancer that could start a whole generation of finding cures. Any woman can quiet it takes a true women to fight cancer!

A control freak is some one who likes to take charge of things, they don't think of anyone but there selves, and they always have to win at everything. Being around a control freak can be hard because like my best friend she always has to take charge of things and sometimes that's hard because you don't get to choose what to do at all. People who don't think about anyone but there selves are usually just mean people, like my brother , he never cares what other people want its always whatever he wants. Then there are the people who always have to win at everything. Its not fair to the people who are around because like my fiancee, he doesn't let anyone get away with telling him otherwise even if he is wrong you have to nod and agree with him.

Heroes for the Human Race

            Heroes for the human race i think would most likely be celebrities. I'm not quiet sure why though because they have paparazzi, there always getting in trouble with the law, and everything you hear about them is bad unless there having a baby or something. I just don't get why people look up to celebrities to base there life on.

            For one, having paparazzi isn't all that. You get followed around in the weirdest places and ways and your life has no privacy. Why on earth would anyone want that? Everywhere you go there are pictures taken of you, eating, sleeping, walking downtown, and parting. Partying would be the worst one to have because that's how people start the rumors about you.

            Second, trouble has to be all celebrities middle names. The only thing i hear about them is there court dates or how the were caught on camera smoking weed or doing cocaine. I mean is it really any of our business. Why cant they tell us about the good things they do, like there donations to foundations or a benefit concert they do. I don't want to hear about how they were at a party last night and got drunk and drove home only to get a DUI for the 50^Th time. Old news!

            Third, Unless there having a baby all celebrities are bad people right? No. Not true that's just how they make it seem. I don't get it. When they first come out and are brand new stars, they are all angels. Once they get to about three years of fame it all changes, suddenly there horrible people who cant seem to stay out of trouble. Its like the world makes them that way in order to have fame. We love you when your angels don't think any different. Your unique when you don't party. Be yourself!

     The four teenagers died in a car accident do to alcohol consumption. It was the drivers fault because he got in the car and allowed himself to drive, but it was also the other boys faults because they allowed themselves to get in the car with him and let him drive knowing he had been drinking. It was also societies fault because they don't make the issue aware of enough.

Intro

     A girl I once new wanted to be a lawyer, she was young when she said that. When she turned fifteen she decided she didn't want to be a lawyer because though she loved arguing, she loved hair and make-up even more. She decided to go to school for cosmetology and had a fun time while there. That was three years ago, the start to the rest of her life. Shes moved away since then though keeping in touch little by little. This is the story of the rest of her life.

     An experience I have had with drugs would be my best friend quiting drugs actually. She joined the Army and had to quit all the bad things she was doing with her life. It went well for a while.. then she discovered spice or now known as potpourri. She became addicted, she doesn't do anything besides smoke this stuff that is so new no one know the long term effects and that scares me She is constantly smoking and it bothers me. I tell her she needs to lay off and she simply says don't tell me what to do if shes in a bad mood but if shes in a good mood she says i know and says shes going to quit but she never does.

In Class Writing

    Legally drinking at the age of 21 instead of at 18 makes no sense. First off, they say its because your brain and body are fully developed by then but if that's true, then why are 18 year olds allowed to smoke? Making the choice to smoke is just as bad, if not worse than drinking. They are both decisions people have to make. Secondly, smoking is addicting and drinking usually isn't unless your an alcoholic which in that case its a mental addiction because you don't want to deal with reality.They are both really bad for you, causing cancer and such, but in this day what doesn't cause cancer i mean lets be real here. It simply doesn't add up.Third, just as your allowed to serve your country at 17 and vote at 18, gambling and drinking you must be 21. If your old enough to decide who's president you should be old enough to gamble and drink.

Narrative

     In May there was a foam party at the mesa convention center and a girl wanted to attend. she didn't know if she was going to be able to because no one could go with her and she didn't want to go alone. she found two friends that would go with her and so they headed off. when they got there they didn't know exactly how it was going to be because there weren't very many people because it was early. they went down to the stage and stood in the foam and danced. her friends wanted to just walk around but she wanted to play in the foam. she went with her friends for a little while but then she got bored so she left. after she left them she went back in the foam, it was as tall as her, no even taller than her. she went deep into the foam and almost drown. thank goodness her friends came back and helped her out.

     I would say that paparazzi do not have the right to follow celebrities around the way they do. It is an invasion of space, it is stalking, and it causes a lot of problems because they get pictures of things and write about them when they don't even know for sure whats going on. It ruins a lot of their careers and gets them to start drug and alcohol because its so stressful.. I couldn't imagine having someone watch my every mood i would never feel like i can be alone and i would always have to live up to expectations. It would drive me crazy too.

     An event that happened in my childhood was when I was 12. I never thought about my parents not being there for me anymore, but when my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer all that changed. I always wondered why her and why now when I need her the most because she had just had a baby. I wasn't ready for her to go and always in the back of my mind that thought is there I could loose her at any moment and never be ready for it. She had her operations done and chemo and radiation but when all that was happening I was so worried about her i started failing classes and falling behind in life not only in school. I was depressed and didn't think anything good could come out of it and nothing ever did except that she survived.

In Class Writing

     New Jersey is a great place to visit. Its amazing all the things you see, for instance, all the birds and rides on the boardwalk the bright lights are so pretty at night. The smell of the ocean and the food makes you super hungry and makes you want to eat outside so you can enjoy the smell of the clean ocean. The feeling of the sand sliding through your toes is smooth and soft. the taste of the pizza and fries with cheese makes you never want to leave. Hearing the small children laugh and play during the day and at night the smooth ocean breeze and crashing of the waves, You'll never want to leave. This is why I suggest you go to New Jersey for your next family vacation.

     Shes a lonely girl she sits and waits for someone, anyone to come up and talk to her. Every night she goes to a coffee shop and sits and drinks her coffee for hours until the little coffee shop closes. All she does is think about what she can do to get people to notice her. Shes tired of being alone she wants someone she can depend on and love and have them love her too. Once the shop closes she leaves and goes home.

In Class Writing

     Students in my math class are lazy, loud and very few pay attention. First, students are extremely lazy, they are always texting and never take notes. Second, they get very loud and off topic, everyone tries to talk over each other and we never get any math done like were suppose to because my teacher gets distracted by what the kids are talking about and start talking about whatever it is that there talking about. Lastly, there are a few students who do pay attention and get a steady A in that class. Those are the kids the rest of us want to sit next to so that we can ask them how to do things on a test or whatever it is that were doing.

Types of Mothers

Easy Going- A mother who lets you get away with anything and everything and doesnt care what you do or when you do it. Kids dont have boundries that are tought to them so they are the kids who get in a lot of trouble because they know they can.

• Example: Kid gets arrested at 14 mother does nothing about it so this kids spends the rest of his life in and out of jail because his mother never taught him boundries.

Strict- A mother who has a set time for everything you never get away with anything and you have rules that never end. this mother has complete control over her family but because of that the kids rebel from the strictness in there home and push there limits as far as possible.

• Example: Child who hates their mother and never wants to be home because of the rules that never end this kid is always going behind peoples backs because they learn thats how they can do things and they dont get caught.

Moderate- A mother who is a friend aswell but knows when to be the mom too. She has few but meaningful rules that should be followed along. This child is happy because they dont feel not cared about and they can still do pretty much anything within reason and have it be okay with their mother.

• Example: Child doesnt need to lie to parent so they have a good relationship with each other this kid has a life of knowing boundries and knowing right from wrong.

Definiton Paragraph:Control Freak

     Music has many different style. Three of which are dubstep, country, and hip hop. While hip hop and dubstep use some of the same beats, country does not. Dubstep is more of a recreation of many different sounds put together into one same sound that sounds amazing. Country has more of a softer tone usually and has guitars and things of that sort. Hip hop has the tones of dubstep but it also has lyrics.

     I see a person who wants to be able to be like normal people and walk up stairs but he has a struggle and that is that he is in a wheel chair and cannot attempt at things by himself that walking people would be able to do. I can infer that he is not treated like a normal walking person because he has a dissability. I believe that is why he is stopped looking up at the stairs, he is looking for answers on how to become someone people will respect.

Compare/Contrast

                 Moon Dough Vs. Play Dough

     Many things are different about moon dough and play dough. For one, moon dough never dries out. Play dough on the other hand dries out pretty fast. Moon dough also is lighter and has a more airy texture to it while play dough is rubbery and thick. they are both for the same age group which would be ages three and older. While moon dough is a little messier it is easier to clean up because if you miss some it doesn't make much difference because you can just vacuum it up. Play dough needs all pieces picked up because the vacuum doesn't grip it and pull it in.

In Class Writing!

     A perfect world in my eyes would be very different. I would have my own condo or house, I would have a job, and my fiancee would be at least an E6 in the national guard and be making great money along with having a job as well. In reality I live with my mother, I have no job, and my fiancee is only an E3 and has no job at the moment. I want a 3 bedroom condo with 2 bathrooms and a walk in closet. With my fiancee being an E6 we wouldn't have any issues with money especially if he had a regular job as well. I would be going to school full time and have a part time job as well so that my fiancee could pay the bills and I would still be able to have necessities and wants. Living with my mom is difficult because she treats me differently than how I should be treated. She is way to hard on me because in her mind she only has a year and a half left to boss me around so that's what shes going to do to her fullest ability and its irritating. I want my own condo so that I can be able to do the things I want because I know I'm mature enough to make my own decisions now.

Quiz- Online Vs Traditional Classes

     Online classes are much harder i think because you cant get one on one time with an instructor in person if you don't understand something. Although it is at your own pace and you can decide what to do that day and how long its going to take you to finish a class. Most people seem to take 4 weeks to finish a whole semester of class because you can take as long as you want or work through as fast as you want and you don't have to wait to find out what your doing next a couple days later, you can just move on to the next thing. I would much rather take a traditional class if its a science coarse math coarse or something hands on but if its english or history i would be okay with taking an online coarse.

Natural Disasters

Having a natural disaster in Mesa is a bad thing. We have so many roads that would get shut down if there were a bad flood. No one that lives by any road that has dips would be able to go anywhere. School buses wouldn't be able to get to where there going and people who take the city bus would be outta luck too. without the transportation everything would be closed anything from grocery stores to malls to schools. you wouldn't be able to get to anything you'd need a vote. 

Process Of Flirting

     The way you flirt is simple. You go up to the person ask them their name and when they answer you say your name. You carry on a conversation and ask if they want to play. When they say yes you go play together with no one else. That's when you get to know them well. Ask them about their lives and what they're into. Do the hair flip. Act interested and like you know what your talking about even if your not at all or have absolutely no idea. When its time to leave ask to play with them again the next day.

How To Clean A Bathroom

Steps:
1. Clear the space your cleaning completely
2. Have the cleaning supplies handy I.E.(Windex, Lysol, Paper towels, Toilet bowl cleaner, Mop, Broom, Toilet bowl wand)
3. Spray Lysol on surfaces needed cleaned by Lysol
4. Take off paper towel from roll and wipe surface down
5. Spray Windex on mirror
6. Take paper towel off roll and wipe mirror off
7. Put toilet bowl cleaner in toilet
8. Sweep floor with broom
9. fill tub with water
10. Get mop wet in tub.

In Class Writing

     My husband Robert is a selfish person, for one thing, he refuses to move out of the city, even though it is a bad place to raise the children. We inherited some money when my parents died, and it might be enough for a down payment on a small house in a nearby town. But Roger says he would miss his buddies in the neighborhood. So we ended up not moving.
     Also, when we go on vacation, we always go where Roger wants to go. We go the same place every year and even sometimes one of his friends tags along. We never go any place fun for the kids either. He wants to gamble and drink all the time so we go to a non kid friendly place, a lot of the time we have the kids stay with his parents.
     Another example of Roger's selfishness is that he always spends any budget money that is left over. He is constantly eating out and going to bars. He doesnt see that we have children who need clothes and food and shoes and what not. All he cares about is himself.
     Finally, Roger leaves all the work of caring for the children to me. He never wants to help take care of them. He says he needs to have his man time and I need to do my job and be the mother. He says it my job, and he doesnt need to help with the kids. He claims the only thing he needs to do is make money to pay bills, which he doesnt even do that either, he spends it all on useless stuff that we dont need or on himself.

1/4 Into the Semester(:

     This coarse is going well. I like that we have a set schedule for every time we come. It helps me know what were going to be doing and in what order. One thing that i would change though is the blog. I dont always have internet and I dont have much time to go find somewhere else to write the blog, so I would like if we would be able to write the paragraph handwritten aswell if we cant get to a computer that works, and then add it to our blog when we get the chance.

Health Conscious?

     The united states I would say, is not  health conscious. Our country as a whole is obese. If we were health conscious we would not be as fat. Though we have many medications  and cures, we need to work on our eating habits. That would solve many health problems.

New College Student

     Advice I would give to a new college student would be many things. A few of those things would be, to study and not procrastinate. I would say study because you have to take in so much information at once you wouldn't be able to remember it if you never looked at it again. Then, I would say don't procrastinate because you will get very exhausted very fast and that's not good.
