Dear Mrs. Miller,
My five writing assignments are included in this portfolio. I feel as if I did really well on them. I had some spelling and grammar issues and the first project wasn’t put together very will with specific details. Once I figured out that you need those details though, I got it. I believe I earned a B possible a B- because I didn’t do one of the writing assignments due to not knowing the due date of the project and what the topic was on. I want to improve my writing a lot more and I'm going to do that by proof reading more than once.

The Amazing Mom

My mom Shawn is a great listener. She helps me through my teenage break downs all the time. She never judges me on them either. Also when everything is done and over with she doesn’t hold grudges on anyone. First, when she helps me through teenage breakdowns, she is helping me a lot. She helps me choose how to handle the situation the right way. When it’s a school issue she tells me what I should do and lets me decide the final outcome. For instance when I was failing a class and she told me I should go talk to the teacher and see what’s up, come to find out the teacher had not put a paper in that was worth a big part of my grade. Second, it’s fantastic that she doesn’t judge either, when I get into fights with friends she still listens even though she thinks the fights are dumb and not worth my time. She respects how I feel about it whether I’m right or wrong. For example I had an argument over me being ditched so my friend could go to a concert and I wasn’t happy because we had planned a week in advance and she completely just went anyway. Finally, when the fight is over she never holds a grudge. She doesn’t treat anyone different when the fight is over. Also she doesn’t look to the past once it’s over, and it’s never brought up again by her. For example, an old friend of mine who I had been friends with since I was three, we got into a huge fight over something really dumb and while we were fighting my mom didn’t like her and then once I had agreed to become friends with her again my mom completely understood and never treated her differently.

Dear Susan G. Komen Foundation,

This letter is to thank you for everything you do, mostly how you save many lives, have a lot of ways to get donations, and you do walks to raise even more money. First off, thank you for saving lives. My mom is a 3 year breast cancer survivor and she wouldn't have been able to do it without you guys supporting her by trying to find a cure. You give so many people hope in having a longer life it’s just magical. Second, you have so many things that help obtain many donations in helping to find a cure for breast cancer. I like that you have jars in grocery stores and you have a product line of pretty much everything you could think of that also if bought a percentage goes to the breast cancer Susan G. Komen foundation. Third, the walks and runs that you have raise so much money. Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is a great thing you guys put together by having a minimum of a 10,000 dollar donation for each person who runs in the Race for the Cure. Also the smaller walks done at Tempe Town Lake and many other places as well for businesses to raise a certain amount of money is also a great way to raise extra money too . With all of the things you guys do at the Susan G. Komen foundation to raise money, i know you can find a cure so that when I’m old and I have grand kids they don’t have to worry about getting breast cancer because there would be a cure. If you find a cure for breast cancer that could start a whole generation of finding cures. Any woman can quiet it takes a true women to fight cancer!

A control freak is some one who likes to take charge of things, they don't think of anyone but there selves, and they always have to win at everything. Being around a control freak can be hard because like my best friend she always has to take charge of things and sometimes that's hard because you don't get to choose what to do at all. People who don't think about anyone but there selves are usually just mean people, like my brother , he never cares what other people want its always whatever he wants. Then there are the people who always have to win at everything. Its not fair to the people who are around because like my fiancee, he doesn't let anyone get away with telling him otherwise even if he is wrong you have to nod and agree with him.

Heroes for the Human Race

            Heroes for the human race i think would most likely be celebrities. I'm not quiet sure why though because they have paparazzi, there always getting in trouble with the law, and everything you hear about them is bad unless there having a baby or something. I just don't get why people look up to celebrities to base there life on.

            For one, having paparazzi isn't all that. You get followed around in the weirdest places and ways and your life has no privacy. Why on earth would anyone want that? Everywhere you go there are pictures taken of you, eating, sleeping, walking downtown, and parting. Partying would be the worst one to have because that's how people start the rumors about you.

            Second, trouble has to be all celebrities middle names. The only thing i hear about them is there court dates or how the were caught on camera smoking weed or doing cocaine. I mean is it really any of our business. Why cant they tell us about the good things they do, like there donations to foundations or a benefit concert they do. I don't want to hear about how they were at a party last night and got drunk and drove home only to get a DUI for the 50^Th time. Old news!

            Third, Unless there having a baby all celebrities are bad people right? No. Not true that's just how they make it seem. I don't get it. When they first come out and are brand new stars, they are all angels. Once they get to about three years of fame it all changes, suddenly there horrible people who cant seem to stay out of trouble. Its like the world makes them that way in order to have fame. We love you when your angels don't think any different. Your unique when you don't party. Be yourself!

            The human race needs heroes, but why are they celebrities? Why do people look up to them? I just don't get it. They party, get in trouble, and everything you hear is horrible unless there having a baby.
